linen pillowcases and shams

The luxurious world of linen bedding

At Linoto, we're passionate about bringing the finest linen bedding to your home. Our collection includes everything from sheets to duvet covers, but today we're focusing on two essential pieces: pillowcases and shams. These items might seem similar at first glance, but they serve different purposes and can elevate your bedroom's style in unique ways.

Linen, known for its durability and breathability, is an excellent choice for bedding. It gets softer with each wash and helps regulate temperature, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. Let's dive into the world of Linoto's linen pillowcases and shams to help you make the best choice for your bedding needs.

What are linen pillowcases?

Linen pillowcases are the everyday heroes of your bedding ensemble. They're designed to cover and protect your pillows while providing a soft, comfortable surface for your head. Our white linen pillowcases are a popular choice for their crisp, clean look and versatility.

Linoto's pillowcases are crafted from 100% pure linen, ensuring breathability and moisture-wicking properties. They're perfect for everyday use and come in a variety of colors to match your bedding or add a pop of contrast.

The charm of linen shams

While pillowcases are primarily functional, shams are all about style. Shams are decorative coverings that typically sit in front of your sleeping pillows during the day. They often have a more tailored appearance with a flange (a flat border around the edge) or a knife edge.

At Linoto, we offer quilted shams that add texture and interest to your bed. Our organic natural quilted pillowcases serve as beautiful shams, elevating the look of your bed with their subtle texture and natural hue.

Color options for linen pillowcases

At Linoto, we believe in offering a wide range of colors to suit every taste and decor style. Here are some of our popular pillowcase colors:

  1. Ivory linen pillowcase
  2. Pale blue linen pillowcase
  3. Lavender linen pillowcase
  4. Graphite linen pillowcase
  5. Sage linen pillowcase

Each color can dramatically change the look and feel of your bedroom. Mix and match for a playful vibe, or keep it monochromatic for a sophisticated look.

The versatility of linen shams

While our quilted shams are stunning, you can also use our regular pillowcases as shams for a more casual look. For example, our navy linen pillowcase can double as a sham, adding a pop of deep, rich color to your bedding arrangement.

Navy Linen Pillowcase

This versatility allows you to change up your bedroom's look without investing in separate shams.

Caring for your linen pillowcases and shams

One of the great things about linen is its easy care. Here are some tips to keep your Linoto pillowcases and shams looking their best:

  • Wash in cool or warm water on a gentle cycle
  • Use a mild detergent without bleach or fabric softeners
  • Tumble dry on low heat or air dry
  • Iron on medium heat if desired, though linen's natural texture is part of its charm

With proper care, your linen bedding will last for years and become softer with each wash.

Mixing and matching: Creating the perfect bed

The beauty of Linoto's linen collection is the ability to mix and match colors and textures. Here are some ideas:

  1. Pair white linen sheets with colorful pillowcases for a fresh, modern look
  2. Use quilted shams in front of regular pillowcases for added texture
  3. Choose a bold duvet cover and complement it with neutral pillowcases and shams

Hi, I'm Jason Evege founder of Linoto.

It all started in 2007 when I was shopping around for real linen sheets and was unable to find any set in a simple, modern style for less than $1000. What's more, I had to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery from Europe. I was so frustrated by my search that I decided to make my own set of linen sheets as well as a few sets for friends and family. The sheets were a huge hit and it was suggested that I set up a website and see if there was demand.

I graduated with a degree in fashion design from one of the best design programs in the country (University of Cincinnati), and was taught how to make things from concept to finished product. I was very fortunate to have all of the skills and machinery required to try my ideas without large capital investments.

In the first 12 months (working nights and weekends out of my home while holding down another job) I sold more than 120 linen sheet sets to customers throughout the US and abroad who were pleased to find real linen sheets at an affordable price.

Linoto has now fulfilled more than 10,000 orders to loyal customers around the world and enjoys a fabulous reputation for quality, value, and style.
